It appears Infinity Ward opted to not publish a dedicated server for MW2. They instead have chosen to use a XBox style matching system. What does this mean for you?

- No more clan servers. Private matches XBox style, replace clan servers.
- Listen servers will connect to each other.
- IW.NET/Steam will replace the community server admin
- You are completely reliant on IW.NET. There are no server lists. There are no dedicated servers.
- Very little to no game mods

MISSION:
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

GOAL:
The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

ACTIVITIES:
The principal Toys for Tots activity which takes place each year is the collection and distribution of toys in the communities in which a Marine Corps Reserve Unit is located.  In communities without a Reserve Unit, the campaign can be conducted by a Marine Corps League Detachment or group of men and women, generally veteran Marines, authorized by Marine toys for tots Foundation to conduct a local Toys for Tots campaign.  Local Toys for Tots Campaign Coordinators conduct an array of activities throughout the year, which include golf tournaments, foot races, bicycle races and other voluntary events designed to increase interest in Toys for Tots, and concurrently generate toys and monetary donations.

Patch 1.6 (w/ Map Pack 3) hits this Friday, the 18th! With it will be the Linux Dedicated 1.6 bins, Mod Tools 1.4 package, and Steam should be ready to go Friday as well =).

Today Infinity Ward announced another 5 celebrities that will join 50 cent and lend their voices to Modern Warfare 2. IW’s community manager confirmed today that the “final voice work” of five actors is currently being put into the game. Here’s the line-up.

Keith David appeared in such films as Requiem for a Dream, They Live, and Platoon. David lent his voice to the Arbiter in Halo 2 and 3, Captain Anderson in Mass Effect, gang boss Julius in Saints Row 1 and 2, Lord Vekk in Lords of EverQuest, Vhailor in PlaneScape: Torment, and Decker in the original Fallout making him a popular choice for voices in video games.

Kevin McKidd was the voice of Love Fist rocker Jezz Torrent in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The Scottish actor played junkie Tommy in the cult film Trainspotting, but he has since made a bigger mark on television. He played fallen centurion Lucius Vorenus in Rome and was the lead in the NBC sci-fi show Journeyman. McKidd’s voice part in Modern Warfare 2 will be for Cpt “Soap” MacTavish.

Barry Pepper most recently voiced Alex Mercer in another Activision game, Prototype. The Canadian actor is best known for his role as the bible-quoting American sniper in Saving Private Ryan and also appeared in the war epics We Were Soldiers and Flags of our Fathers. Pepper was also the lead in Battlefield Earth.

Also on the voice roster is American character actor Glenn Morshower, who stared in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Though he’s appeared in nearly 150 television shows and films, his highest profile role was the secret service agent Aaron Pierce in several seasons of 24.

Brit, Craig Fairbrass is also appearing in the game, two years after he voiced the SAS commando Gaz in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Problem is, Gaz was shot in the head with a Desert Eagle toward the end of the game, meaning his appearance may be a flashback–or Gaz had the good fortune to survive a high-caliber head wound.

50 Cent is known for his hard-hitting gangster rap music, but today it was confirmed that Infinity Ward will be using his voice in Modern Warfare 2!

The news dropped via Fiddy’s blog that “50 was cast as The Multi-Player Voice”, 402 cleared this up in a tweet earlier today that he will actually supply the voice for one of the squad members in Multiplayer and the new side game, Spec Ops. 50 is one of many multiplayer / spec ops squad voices. “Reloading”, “Watch your fire”, “I’m out!” and “Revive me!” is the sort of stuff he will get to say.
